From June to July a lot of progress has been made in the DNN Community and at DNN Corp. The DNN Technology Advisory Group has been very busy and is sharing roadmap updates and info on how to submit Pull Requests. The process for automated builds is also getting streamlined. A new automated CLA process (thanks to the .NET Foundation) has been implemented making it much easier to contribute and manage contributions to the platform.
Thanks to some great initiative and a lot of work from Daniel Valadas and Ernst Peter Tamminga the DNN Community modules have seen a lot of updates. Daniel has posted a great blog explaining his motivation for the project. As a result, more people are getting involved and the core modules are being made current so that they can run on the latest version of DNN.
July 1st marked the opening of nominations for the DNN MVP Program. Nominations will be open for 1 month so be sure to nominate individuals who you feel are worthy of DNN MVP status on the nomination page. Along with nominations being open, the MVP Program and directory have been updated to show Current, Honorary, and Lifetime MVPs. I’m excited to see the program thriving again and hope to see you in an MVP meeting soon!
DNN Corp CEO, Andy Tryba, also hosted the quarterly Virtual User Conference (VUC) where he, Ash Prasad, and Mitchel Sellers presented updates to the ecosystem. At the VUC Andy shared info about the DNN Prime Program, which is a great way to access a suite of new solutions in the portfolio for free! If you haven’t checked out the Prime program be sure to watch the replay learn about all the offerings.
In recent months the Partner Program has been updated, the MVP Program refreshed, the DNN TAG is setting the direction of the platform, and Evoq customers now have access to the Prime program. These are all signs of progress, promises kept, and positive traction. The exciting times in the DNN Ecosystem continue!

Social Media Authentication
Using one’s social media account for SSO login across an organization is becoming increasingly popular in today’s cloud focused world. With that in mind, DNN provides you Authentication Providers for the following 4 social media heavyweights:
Facebook, Twitter, Live, Google
- First install the authenticator from Settings > Extensions > Available Extensions.
- Configure the Extension itself under Settings > Extensions > Installed Extensions.
- Set the Login provider for your site to use at Settings > Security > Login Settings > Basic Login Settings > Default Authentication Provider.
This month’s spotlight is on Daniel Valadas. Daniel has been doing a ton of work recently to get all the original “core” DNN modules to run on DNN version 9.2. Daniel’s initiative has started a movement and it is awesome to see community members stepping up! This brief interview with Daniel discusses Daniels recent work, his motivation, and how you can get involved!.
This year the DNN-Connect team put a lot of effort into providing the community with quality video replays of the conference sessions. This is great content for everyone in the community. The videos can be found on the DNN-Connect YouTube account under the DNN-Connect 2018 Playlist. If you were unable to attend, you should check the replays out as some great content is available.
