New Community Website

Ordinarily, you'd be at the right spot, but we've recently launched a brand new community website... For the community, by the community.

Yay... Take Me to the Community!

The Community Blog is a personal opinion of community members and by no means the official standpoint of DNN Corp or DNN Platform. This is a place to express personal thoughts about DNNPlatform, the community and its ecosystem. Do you have useful information that you would like to share with the DNN Community in a featured article or blog? If so, please contact .

The use of the Community Blog is covered by our Community Blog Guidelines - please read before commenting or posting.

Editor's Note

Welcome to Spring 2019! Just last week it snowed and now it’s 80 degrees and we’re covered in pollen in the Carolinas. Spring has also brought with it a new DNN Platform release! The DNNTAG has released DNN Platform version 9.3.1 which saw several updates including the return of the Google Analytics user interface thanks to Mike Smeltzer.

On the ESW / DNN Corp side the Prime Portfolio continues to grow. Evoq customers have access to the growing library of solutions. Recent acquisitions of SLI Systems and School Loop were the latest additions to the Prime offerings suite and there’s more to come just around the corner.

Before you know it the European DNN Conference, DNN-Connect, will be here. The community is looking forward to the conference. Each Ecosystem Advisory Group area Leader will be present at the conference plus Microsoft will be there talking about DevOps other items of interest for small business owners. The conference will also include a closing meal at 2,000 meters altitude. It’s shaping up to be a great event and there’s still time to register!

Along the lines of DNN Conferences, the team at DNN Summit just announced the location and dates for DNN Summit 2020. The conference is leaving the snowy mountains of Colorado and heading south to the palm trees and sun of Orlando, Florida. Check out the announcement blog.

In the spotlight section below, you’ll find an interview I conducted with the leader of the DNN Docs team, Kelly Ford. There is some really great work going on in the area of documentation and some of the community is already responding. Be sure to check the interview out. One of the most recent additions to the Docs system highlights contributions made from community members by pulling contribution data from the GitHub API. Thanks to David Poindexer for making this possible.

Also, last but not least did you notice DNN Hangout is back in action? There’s been two episodes already and more to come. Check it out on the DNN Hangout Playlist.

About SteadyRain
SteadyRain is a business and technology solutions firm focused on Digital Strategy, Design, Development and Digital Marketing. Founded in 1999, SteadyRain has extensive experience delivering Internet technology solutions for a diverse client base.

SteadyRain brings a balance of business and technology understanding to our client’s strategies. Our commitment to customer service is unmatched in the industry. The goal, always, is to increase profit, decrease cost, increase efficiency and/or to help our clients develop a competitive advantage in the marketplace.

SteadyRain’s expertise extends through the entire life cycle of digital project development including, but not limited to, strategic planning and conceptualization, user interface, interactive/multimedia, database architecture, web application development, website hosting and ongoing development and application maintenance services.

STEADYRAIN’s Journey with DNN
SteadyRain is a DNN Certified Partner who has been implementing DNN website solutions for over 15 years. In that time our skills have grown as the platform has grown and we were proud to be a long-time DNN Sponsor and now a formal DNN Certified Partner. This status provides us a unique level of access to the core team and to the executive management within the DNN organization as well as advanced access to updates and upgrades of the framework. SteadyRain can leverage these relationships to more deeply fulfill the needs of our clients to build the most advanced and feature-rich solutions possible.

Areas of Specialization
For success in business, you must have plans: A business plan, a financial plan, an HR plan, a marketing plan, the list goes on and on. At SteadyRain, our award-winning team is more than equipped to help you come up with another important plan: We call it a digital strategy.

SteadyRain provides digital marketing services that complement the DNN platform. Everything from technical site optimization, speed improvements, user experience optimization through development of conversion funnels and content creation/optimization is implemented in order to ensure our clients success. These strategies help increase conversions on websites and enhances key performance indicators. Our digital marketing team is a full service provider that drives traffic to clients’ websites through the use of paid search, display ads, remarketing ads, paid social and video campaign optimizations.

We work with clients to outline online goals and initiatives whether they be specific to a software solution, campaign flight or a broader view of an organization’s entire digital landscape. This planning takes place through our Joint Application Design/Development, or JAD, process. It has proven that approaching complex problems “with clients” instead of “for clients” provides a dramatic increase in our ability to deliver sophisticated solutions on time, on budget and in scope. It also effectively eliminates miscommunication between internal stakeholders within a client organization, bringing all internal requirements into alignment with our marketing and development teams.

At SteadyRain, we focus first on obtaining a panoramic of your company’s current digital landscape, then working with you to determine the most logical path forward. We uncover insights based on business priorities, target audiences and available budgets to build goals that are short, medium and long term by developing a multi-year strategic plan for digital.

Notable DNN Projects
The Archdiocese of St. Louis had a dated website that was confusing to navigate. As a leader of technology in the Catholic community across the United States, the Archdiocese needed to modernize their website to attract new and current Catholics by providing them services & support within the St. Louis community.

As a result of an in-depth discovery & consulting phase, SteadyRain completed a new information architecture for the Archdiocese of St. Louis public website and developed wireframes that detailed the new layout for the marketing website. Based on this new strategy, SteadyRain designed and produced a new look and feel for the catholic community. As part of this solution, SteadyRain produced the necessary skins/styles for use in the DNN Evoq content management system.

SteadyRain created custom Content Types to allow the Archdiocese to manage Announcements, Events & Job Listings unique to each Ministry Office or Parish within the site. It also includes a full publication management tool for all publications delivered by the Archdiocese.

The new website allows customers to view content and information that is related to their audience via Audience Dashboards. The new site also allows for Micro-Sites (site within a site) for each of the offices that live within the Archdiocese itself (e.g. Office of Consecrated Life, Office of Communications).
