About

New Community Website

Ordinarily, you'd be at the right spot, but we've recently launched a brand new community website... For the community, by the community.

Yay... Take Me to the Community!

The Community Blog is a personal opinion of community members and by no means the official standpoint of DNN Corp or DNN Platform. This is a place to express personal thoughts about DNNPlatform, the community and its ecosystem. Do you have useful information that you would like to share with the DNN Community in a featured article or blog? If so, please contact .

The use of the Community Blog is covered by our Community Blog Guidelines - please read before commenting or posting.

DNN Digest - June 2019

Editor's Note

It’s been a very active month in the DNN ecosystem and the community’s momentum continues to grow! It seems the energy is always renewed around conference time and that’s exactly where we are on the heels of last weekend’s DNN-Connect conference. It’s great to see.

While I cover this in the “Featured Content” section below I also want to mention it here because it is significant! Andrew Hoefling recently made a strategic code contribution to the platform which helps us move a step closer in the journey to .NET Core. These type of contributions are exactly what will help us continue to modernize the platform - Thanks Andrew! If you’re looking for a way to contribute please reach out to any Ecosystem Advisory Group and get plugged in.

The DNN TAG team is prepping for a 9.4 release candidate that will release sometime next week with a hopeful final release in early July. I’d like to reiterate the need for testers to help with RC’s. If you’re open to assisting testing the release candidate please reachout to Mitchel Sellers.

As mentioned, DNN-Connect was last weekend in Champery, Switzerland. It was a great conference and there was a pretty notable announcement made at the conference and that is the launch of the new community site, DNNCommunity.org. Be sure to register to the site and start interacting with the community.

On the subject of conferences, there should be some announcements from the DNN Summit team in the coming days. Be sure to follow the updates on the DNN Summit website and social media accounts.

And on a different note, this will be my last edition as editor of the DNN Digest. As I communicated in a blog earlier this week, I’ll be transitioning out of DNN Corp and today is my last day! I hope you have found some value in the DNN Digest content over the past 19 months. I’m not disappearing though! I’ll still be actively involved in the DNN Community so I’ll see you around at user groups, conferences, and online. I’m already prepping my first blog for the new community site which should post soon!

DNN Digest June 2019 Spotlight

Spotlight: A New Site for the DNN Community!

At the recent DNN-Connect conference in Switzerland, the new community site - DNNCommunity.org - was unveiled! This new site is intended to be the community’s new home and be a technology focused site. This site is a work in progress (we need your help!) and is an effort led by the Awareness Ecosystem Advisory group. There are some great things planned for the site and this site’s launch is yet another sign of the positive traction and energy in the community. It’s great to see this finally made public and I look forward to connecting with you on the site. I’ll be posting my first blog on the site soon!

Featured Content: ASP.NET Core Dependency Injection in DNN

In the past few months there has been a lot of discussion around the journey to getting DNN to run on .NET Core. Andrew Hoefling recently made an epic pull request that moves DNN one step further along in that journey. This was such an awesome contribution that DNN Technology Ecosystem Advisory Group Leader, Mitchel Sellers, posted a blog discussing Andrews pull request and what it means for the platform.
