Over the past week I thought I’d play about with Css Grid (a new Css layout system). When I started to use Css Grid I started to think of ways the Css Grid would work well with Dnn and I came up with an idea.

After my session at the Dnn Connect 2017 event I decided to create a tutorial on who to set up a skeleton them using Sass.

The is no hard setup of external frameworks like GruntJs etc., just install a Sass compiler and you are good to go!

I’ve been creating theme for a while now, for client site as well as the Open Source themes I’ve created. I always wanted to have a way for the client to change background colors and setting but never found a satisfactory solution that fitted well with my needs and Dnn.

This is why I decided to create the DnnThemeEditor so that everyone can have a theme editor for their own themes.

The First Dnn Theme using Bootstrap 4, and its free!

The DnnContra theme for Dnn is the forth in the series of free, open source themes created by DnnConsulting.net.

This theme is a cross between the DnnBootster and DnnMDesign theme, with the choice of colors that the MDesign theme has and pre-designed color schemes like the Boostster theme. We have also created more css classes that help you easily create and customize the theme the way you want it!

To follow up the FREE DnnBootster theme I decided to take it 1 step further with the new FREE, Open Source theme ‘DnnMDesign’.

So what is different with the DnnMDesign theme I hear you ask, well the DnnMDesign theme uses Bootstrap v3.3.6 just like the DnnBootster them but this time I have added an extra css framework so that you have the look and feel of ‘Material Design’.

A couple of weeks ago I had a bit of time on my hands so I decided to create a new open source skin for the Dnn community. The first thing I did was to ask, via social channels what framework people would like to see the skin using.

It was obvious from the reactions I received that the community wanted another Bootstrap skin so I began to create the new skin for the community with Bootstrap and the outcome was the DnnBootster skin!
