From the Editor:
Welcome to 2018! We’re glad you made it to the other side with us. 2017 saw a lot of positive change, excitement, and transition at DNN Corp and in the overall DNN ecosystem. This trend of change continues and momentum is still growing. We are excited and looking forward to the changes and updates that will occur in the ecosystem this year. Stay tuned because good things are ahead.
As I look at the coming year I think it will be a year of action where you see promises kept, strategic plans made and executed upon with relationships and trust being restored throughout the community.
One thing I’ve been happy to see is that the Ecosystem Advisory Groups are up and running, having meetings, and making progress. It’s awesome to watch a passionate group of people come together to start bringing about positive change. Again we invite you to take part in the Ecosystem Advisory Groups. Learn more about getting involved here.
We’ve recently updated the Project History page with relevant events related to the history of DNN. We’ve also updated the Showcase Website page with over 100 new websites. There are some really nice looking DNN sites out there! Feel free to submit your site to the showcase and help us show off what DNN can do.
We hope to see you at DNN Summit which occurs in just a few weeks. It’s going to be a great event capitalizing on all the recent momentum in the DNN ecosystem.

This month’s tip comes from Shawn McGillivray, a Senior Support Analyst at DNN Corp.
Question: I am newly responsible for a DNN site and was not provided Superuser credentials. How do I get Superuser access to my site?
Answer: If you have a non-Superuser account and credentials to the SQL Server database associated with your site, you can elevate your account to Superuser status via a database update:
- Backup your database
- Find your user account in the Users table
- Set Is Superuser = 1
- Restart your site in IIS to force your change to take effect
Note: We provide support packages for DNN Platform users. If you’re an Evoq customer, there are no changes to the support associated with your subscription.
DeskPal’s DNN 9 Cheatsheet
DNN 9 brought on a new user interface and user experience. If you’ve been using DNN for a while it can become second nature to know where certain settings and menu options reside. Then when the UI/UX gets updated re-learning where things are can take time. Aderson Oliveira and the team at Deskpal have created a DNN 9 Cheat Sheet to help users as they arrive to the new interface and experience in DNN 9. If you’ve upgraded from any previous version to DNN 9 this may be great content for you as you transition to the modern DNN.
