Editor's Note
The DNN ecosystem has continued along the path of progress and the momentum is great to see. There has been a lot of work behind the scenes in the Technology Advisory Group making it easier for the community to contribute to the platform. One of the main tasks they’ve been undertaking is to get continuous integration and continuous delivery in place. This work is impressive to see and will help a great deal with automation. Think about making a pull request which then results in a build process that will run tests indicating if your updates failed or passed. It’s a great win for efficiency for our community and project.
In other news EVS, the extension verification system, has been open sourced. This is another win for the community and you can read the details in a blog by Ash Prasad. The DNN TAG has also published the 9.2.2 release candidate which is out there for testing. Be sure to test the RC and provide feedback.
In a previous DNN Digest I interviewed Daniel Valadas who has led the initiative to get all core modules current on 9.2. Daniel has recently made another stellar contribution in creating a YouTube video playlist for how someone can get started with DNN and GitHub. These videos go from A to Z and are very thorough. If you wish to get involved with making code contributions to the platform this video series is a great place to start. Check out the video playlist on YouTube.
Earlier this week DNN Corp CEO, Andy Tryba, presented at the quarterly Virtual User Conference. One of his updates was that another solution has been added to the DNN Prime offering, Manuscript, which is a Fog Creek software. If you are a DNN Prime customer then you now have access to this solution in the portfolio.
And finally, we were excited to see the team from Foremost Media announce the first annual DNN Website Awards. Shared in a blog this week, the DNN Website Awards looks to celebrate the best designed and developed DNN websites in the world. This is another example of community members stepping up and giving back to the ecosystem and it’s great to see. So be sure to submit your best DNN websites at DNNAwards.com by October 31st!

Partner Spotlight: Engage Software
In this section we’ll feature a DNN Partner and discuss the partner’s firm and any feature projects that show off DNN.
This month we’re featuring Advanced level DNN Partner, Engage Software. Founded in 1999, Engage is a leading DNN service provider specializing in enterprise-level web development, front-end design and back-end configurations and integrations. Engage is also a Microsoft Certified Silver Partner. You may recognize some of Engage’s employees who are active in the community. Chief Technical Officer, Brian Dukes, earned DNN MVP in 2012. He and Creative Director, Anthony Overkamp, have been featured speakers at DNN Summit.
Areas of specialization
Engage Software specializes in 3rd party system integrations such as association management software, customer relationship management systems (CRMs), financial software, and inventory management systems. While Engage serves a wide variety of industries, the majority of their work is in the fields of financial services, healthcare, retail, transportation and software.
Due to the significant number of integrations of leading .Net-based association management systems (AMS), the Engage leadership saw a need for an AMS targeted to meet the needs of small- to mid-sized organizations. And thus, launched Engage AMS built on DNN. Engage Software also offers Engage Sports, a DNN-based platform that serves the software and online needs of sports league management.
Engage’s Journey with DNN
Since adopting DNN in 2003, Engage Software has launched well over 1,000 sites and in 2008 became DNN Corporation’s Official Training Provider. In 2010, DNN acquired the training business and resources. Presently, Engage remains DNN’s longest-standing partner and continues to provide customized DNN training, design, development and strategy to our clients.
Recent Projects
Engage leveraged the DNN multi-site management solution to provide companies, such as Heartland Dental, True Value Hardware, and Dominion Powersports solutions to manage their hundreds to thousands of locations, offices, and dealerships. These tools allow administrators to create content once and share it across the sites. Where needed, these solutions have also enabled centralized grouping and management of these sites and their users.
