When I download the latest version of the code I usually download the source version so that I have the source for custom development.  Then I just copy all the files under the website sub-folder to my online site, with the necessarily modified web.config file. 

 

However, today after downloading the 6.2 RTM code today for the source I went through the above described process, but this time, the web.config file was not present.  I downloaded the 'New Install' only package, and this had the web.config file as well as all the other files that the source+ new install had for installing to a new site.

 I'm not sure if anyone else had this issue.  But I wanted to share it, in case the source file needs updated.

The _Source distributions, by design, never have a file named web.config. Instead, it ships with release.config and development.config (release being an identical copy of web.config seen in _Install packages).

I often prefer getting source code installed just to be able to view the text to find bugs etc. For this, I unzip source package and afterwards install package into the website folder. HTH
