The DNN Technology Ecosystem Advisory Group continues to meet on a weekly basis mapping out the future of DNN. The meeting agenda and minutes are shared here in blog entries so that everyone can see the progress being made and conversations occurring in the group.
This December 18th meeting we discussed about the common React components refactoring, Testing, Greenkeeper, Eveq related Persona Bar changes, Guidance for third party developers regarding the Persona Bar changes and we added more approvers for the Admin Experience repository to speed up the process.

Persona Bar Updates. Still in progress. A lot of updates are still required. PR’s are coming.
-
Testing. We need to validate that things are working. May have an ALPHA release. ESW will test from a build provided ahead of code freeze. Need a companion blog post at the same time to tell people what to test. Mitch will update Slack with Managed.com testing resources.
-
Green Keeper. Oliver to look at the docs to know how to work with it to test updates. If there are breaking changes, the build will fail. After merge, he’ll delete the configuration and start it back up from the beginning. Decision is to leave it as-is for now. No easy way to trigger CI build from each PR.
-
Evoq Compatibility/Development. (Ash) Persona Bar updates readiness. He says he’s waiting on the community updates. DNN Corp is ready and waiting. Ash says that they won’t know what additional work they might have until they get an updated build. Form builder in LQ has been tested. Some of the testing is blocked due to issues with Site Settings. Site Settings should be completed today, pending review. Oliver has reviewed and it looks good. Didn’t merge the upgrade PR, portal tooltip. Daniel V. is submitting a new PR to address this though.
-
Pressing Issues with Immediate Concerns. Need to focus on testing for the next release.
-
Guidance for Third-Party Developers. May need to put this information in the wiki, or in the announcement blog post. Should put it somewhere and link to it from the blog post. Mitch feels that only a few known commercial vendors may be impacted. Custom development implementations may experience a larger impact.
-
Documentation. (Clint) Trying to have something to show and announce at DNN Summit. Kelly Ford is trying to go to the event to show it to everyone. If not, someone else on the team will. It will not be ready for the ALPHA release.
-
Admin Experience. We need to add more people to be able to approve PR’s. Ash is trying to allow Oliver and/or Mitch to do this. Ash to add Daniel Valadas and Matt Rutledge as members. Ash won’t allow anyone else to be an owner of the project.
If a PR has 5+ commits, do a squash and merge so that it’s only one commit. Be sure to “polish” the PR title. Set the milestone for the release of the PR, if it’s not already done.
-
Blog Post by Mitch. Year end review of what’s been happening for the community. Not everyone can see what’s happening.
