New Community Website

Ordinarily, you'd be at the right spot, but we've recently launched a brand new community website... For the community, by the community.

Yay... Take Me to the Community!

This is a place to express personal thoughts about DNNPlatform, the community and its ecosystem. The DotNetNuke Marketplace Evolves to Meet Community Needs.

The DotNetNuke Marketplace Evolves to Meet Community Needs.

Since the Marketplace first opened last October we have been focused on identifying and offering the best skins and modules available for DotNetNuke.  In the past it has been our policy to only list products which had passed the DotNetNuke Review Program.  This policy was aimed at providing a venue for vendors to distinguish their products and provide a level of comfort to customers that the listed products met basic quality standards.  After six months of operation, and after discussing this with many different vendors and customers we have decided that this policy was not achieving the desired goal.  So we have decided it was time to make some changes.

Easier to get listed

We recently allowed vendors who had passed the review process to begin using the new MarketLister to post their products into the Marketplace.  MarketLister allows you to provide all of your product information in a format that streamlines the moderation and posting process.  Now your products will be listed in a matter of hours, with fewer listing errors.  Gone is the requirement to fill out and submit a bunch of Word documents.  No more faxing a Reseller agreement.  Now you can just fill out and publish your listing using a straight-forward set of web-forms.

Starting immediately, vendors will also be able to list any DotNetNuke related products in the Marketplace.  It is no longer a requirement to have your product reviewed first before getting it listed.

Easier to post updates

Using the MarketLister, you can make changes and republish your product and vendor information quickly and easily.  You can see your listing content as it appears in the Marketplace including any edits made during the moderation process.  The new MarketLister gives you have more control over your listing, while still ensuring a consistent and uniform appearance throughout the MarketPlace

Easier to find

With the recent release of DotNetNuke 4.5.1 and 4.5.2 release, we are making it even easier for customers to find and purchase products from the MarketPlace.  We will continue to look for new and innovative ways to help link DotNetNuke users with DotNetNuke MarketPlace vendors.

Improved Notification

Beginning June 1st, DotNetNuke MarketPlace will launch the new MarketLink service.  MarketLink is designed to simplify vendor notification of product sales within the MarketPlace giving you real-time information on new customers.  If you choose, you will be able to automatically add customers to specified Roles on your DotNetNuke website.  MarketLink was designed from the ground up to be secure and extensible.  You have total flexibility in how to handle incoming notifications.  Based on the information available from MarketLink, you can analyze your sales data using whatever tools you wish.

More Consistent Downloads

In the past we have posted vendor products directly to the website.  Starting with the release of the MarketLister, we are now packaging products in a standard zip file to provide a more consistent experience for MarketPlace customers.  So whether you package your product as one file or multiple files, we will provide customers with a single combined package.

These are not the only changes we have planned.  In the coming weeks, we will be providing better organization for products in the MarketPlace, a fresh new look and a new Affiliate Marketing program to better link customers back to the MarketPlace.  In addition we have planned some enhancements to the MarketLister to allow you to submit your products to the Review Program at the same time that you publish them to the MarketPlace.

Q:  If everyone is now able to freely list products in the MarketPlace, why should I get my products reviewed?
A:  The Review Program offers many benefits that are not available to everyone listed in the MarketPlace.

Q:  If I already have products listed in the MarketPlace, how do I use the new MarketLister to update those products?
A:  During the coming weeks we will be contacting existing vendors directly to help get their products moved to the MarketLister.  In order to facilitate this process you will need to already have a user account on so that we may link it with your MarketPlace listings.
