New Community Website

Ordinarily, you'd be at the right spot, but we've recently launched a brand new community website... For the community, by the community.

Yay... Take Me to the Community!

The Community Blog is a personal opinion of community members and by no means the official standpoint of DNN Corp or DNN Platform. This is a place to express personal thoughts about DNNPlatform, the community and its ecosystem. Do you have useful information that you would like to share with the DNN Community in a featured article or blog? If so, please contact .

The use of the Community Blog is covered by our Community Blog Guidelines - please read before commenting or posting.

Live Report from DotNetNuke OpenForce 07

It is now day two of DotNetNuke OpenForce 07 and what a blast it has been so far! Here's my round-up to date.

Core Team Luncheon: The event began on Monday with a private luncheon for core team members on Monday afternoon. It was great to meet and greet the people I have been chatting to regularly online, as well as establish relationships with others who I have only met in group chats. Warning to my new core team friends - now I know you I'm more likely to hassle you for information for documentation! But no seriously - I do think these new relationships will strengthen the communication between core team and project team members - which from my perspective will result in me providing improved documentation.

Who Stole My Voice?: Unfortunately, I seemed to have lost my voice somewhere along the way. I'm not sure if it was singing along to the trashy rock band I found on the first night or drinking tequila with the cowboys I met - but the outcome was I had to ask Vincenc to cover my DNN Stall time slot - but I did here he made a lovely booth babe in my absense! :)

No I'm no Nina!: Several people confused me with ex-core team member Nina who provides skinning. But nope I am definately Lorraine who writes the Online Help.

Cambrian: If you haven't heard of it yet you soon will. Cambrian is the name given to the upcoming 2008 DNN releases. It is great to be able to refer to a release name rather than a release version and I think it reflects the maturity of the DNN project. Stay tuned for more on this following the Panel Discusssion I will report back from (it's held tomorrow).

DotNetNuke For Dummies: WROX Press had a stand in the Expo hall at which I had the pleasure of meeting with Katie Feltman who was my contact when writing the Dummies book. We went out to dinner with a few other authors and WROX staff members last night and the feedback was that WROX are very happy with the sales of DNN books in general and are always on the look out for new and interesting DNN titles. So if you have a good idea and like to type lots of words you should considered contacting them.
