C Sharp

DotNetNuke Learns a New Language

DotNetNuke 6 has gotten a major new platform upgrade as the result of a complete conversion to C#. This language change will make it more accessible to a larger development community and allows us to leverage many development tools which have always had strong C# support. The C# version of DotNetNuke has been available for the past year and starting with DotNetNuke 6, it is officially the primary development language of the platform.

What Are You Waiting For?

There are so many changes in DotNetNuke 6 that we encourage you to download a copy today and try it out for yourself. DotNetNuke 6 includes something for everyone, whether you are just trying it for the first time, are a long time user, or are just coming back to see what all the excitement is about. We hope you enjoy what has been a labor of love over the last several months by the team at DotNetNuke Corp and the DotNetNuke Community.

For a full list of the bug-fixes, changes and enhancements please see the DotNetNuke 6 Changelog.

As always, remember to do a trial upgrade in a test environment and to make a file and database backup prior to upgrading to DotNetNuke 6. While most of your DotNetNuke 4 & 5 modules and skins will work in DotNetNuke 6, some of our vendors have already started releasing updated versions of their modules that take advantage of new DotNetNuke 6 features, so check with them to see if upgrades for your modules or skins already exist.
