Do you have useful information that you would like to share with the DNN Community in a featured article or blog? If so, please contact .

The use of the Community Blog is covered by our Community Blog Guidelines - please read before commenting or posting.

Tutorial: Learn to create a News-App within minutes using Safe, Token-based Development (with video)

DNN (without 2sxc) is a bit scary for non-developers - because whenever you read tutorials you end up thinking that Visual Studio is the way to go, that you must use C#, and that anything you develop like that won't work in the near future. Which is kind of correct...

So I created a short video showing how to create any kind of App - in this case a News-App - using just [Token]-templates, a few views and more. Simple, future-proof, web-designer-optimized. Have fun, try it out, enjoy.

Stop using $scope - learn AngularJS Best Practices an DNN-Connect

There are many bad code-samples showing you how to use AngularJS - and following these will make work with AngularJS confusing and difficult. A typical mistake is to use $scope in your code - something that was a good idea 3 years ago but not any more. Let me tell you more... Continue Reading »

Take Websites and Web-Apps Offline with Mobile Devices at DNN-Connect

Modern mobile devices can use web sites as if they were installed native Apps - and the distribution works through normal web servers, not through App-Stores. This opens many opportunities to create HTML based Mobile-Apps much cheaper and faster. These Apps work on all platforms and are easy to update when working with an awesome CMS like DNN/2sxc. Let me show you how to do this...

New in 2sxc 7: #4 Using Visual Query with WebAPI (Updated)

This is a part of my series The New Features of 2sxc 7 and introduces you to using the Visual Query together with WebAPI.

There are many ways to consume Query data - the most powerful way to give use it in JavaScript is to deliver it as JSON - which can be done easily in WebAPI.

Do we need MVC on the Server when Google indexes JavaScript?

Google processes JavaScript. As Adam Audette put it "It should be noted that this type of functionality by Google explains how sites built using the AngularJS framework and the HTML5 History API (pushState) can be rendered and indexed by Google, ranking as well as conventional static HTML pages.".

Why is this important? ASP.net WebForms is dead, and with Googles improvements ASP.net MVC may become unimportant. My 2cents on this...

Breaking News: Google indexes JavaScript as if it were HTML

While migrating yourself and DNN to the next level, every developer has to learn new skills. Will it be JavaScript or MVC? We're (2sic/2sxc) strong believers in JS since it works in DNN-old and new - and also Umbraco, PHP etc. Now JavaScript got another huge boost - because Google indexes JS output!
