Linq to SQL code posted in VB and C#

Ok I broke down and posted the VB version of the Linq to SQL tutorial:

  • Creating a DotNetNuke® Module Using LINQ to SQL (Part 1)
  • Creating a DotNetNuke® Module Using LINQ to SQL (Part 2)
  • LInq to SQL eliminates so much code I only had to make a special conversion of one method.

    I changed this (C#):

                LinqThings4SaleDataContext LinqThings4SaleDataContext = new LinqThings4SaleDataContext();

                var Things4Sale = from T in LinqThings4SaleDataContext.ThingsForSale_Categories
                                  select new
                                  {
                                      T.ID,
                                      T.Category,
                                      Count = LinqThings4SaleDataContext.ThingsForSales.Count(c => c.Category == T.Category)
                                  };

                e.Result = Things4Sale;

    to this (VB):

                Dim objLinqThings4SaleDataContext As Things4SaleVBDataContext = New Things4SaleVBDataContext()

                Dim Things4Sale = From T In objLinqThings4SaleDataContext.ThingsForSale_Categories _
                                  Select _
                                      ID = T.ID, _
                                      Category = T.Category, _
                                      Count = (From cat In objLinqThings4SaleDataContext.ThingsForSales _
                                      Where cat.Category = T.Category).Count

                e.Result = Things4Sale

    The tutorial is still in C#, but you can simply install the VB version of the module and follow along. 90%+ of the tutorials do not have any code anyway.
