Core Modules Development Team August 16th 2018 meeting recording

Summary:

• Statistics on module usage: We ran a survey to ask people what they and their clients are using as far as core modules go. The results of that survey are available at https://www.surveymonkey.com/results/SM-N3GCTK5ML/
• Forums: Sebastian spoke with Ilpo Juvander and he will join our developers group, he is interested in helping maintain the original Forums module.
• Active Forums: We got a first contact back from Seth Folickman regarding the ActiveForums module we are still waiting on a reply to move forward
• Contributing.md : The base template would be this one https://github.com/DNNCommunity/DNN.Reports/blob/master/.github/CONTRIBUTING.md you are welcome to comment and contribute to this document, we will copy it to the other modules probably by next meeting. Also, I have made a video series to show the basics of building, testing and submitting pull requests for modules, the Platform and the Persona bar, this video series is at https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLIx1M8IdVvqZ0bnODGqJyxvONNPj5BzMP it will be added as a link in the contibuting.md of each project.
• Automated builds: We had some discussions on AppVeyor vs VSTS, a decision has been made to go with VSTS and Andrew will prepare a demo on the Wiki module.
• Extensions Catalog: EPT, Mike and David are investigation using github Apis for stats, David is working on github apis usage.
• Active Directory Authentication Provider: According to recent issues and commits, it looks like this provider still works with Dnn 9.2 after all Steven A West seams to be very involved, we need to get in touch with him to discuss and maybe make him the official maintainer.
• We had a bit much on our plate for this meeting so many other points where pushed to next meeting.
