About

New Community Website

Ordinarily, you'd be at the right spot, but we've recently launched a brand new community website... For the community, by the community.

Yay... Take Me to the Community!

The Community Blog is a personal opinion of community members and by no means the official standpoint of DNN Corp or DNN Platform. This is a place to express personal thoughts about DNNPlatform, the community and its ecosystem. Do you have useful information that you would like to share with the DNN Community in a featured article or blog? If so, please contact .

The use of the Community Blog is covered by our Community Blog Guidelines - please read before commenting or posting.

DNN Summit 2018 is Fast Approaching: Reasons to Consider a Sponsorship

reasons to sponsor DNN Summit
I attended DNN Summit 2017 in Denver and had a great time. I met users from different states and different countries, each with a unique perspective and history working with DNN. During the day, the sessions and networking were valuable.

Nighttime and the weekend (at DNN on the Slopes) provided even more opportunities to chat DNN and get to know members of the community.

DNN Summit 2018 is fast approaching.

It takes place February 6-10, 2018 in Denver, Colorado, at the same venue as last year: the Embassy Suites Denver Downtown Convention Center.

The current list of sponsors:
  • DNN Corp.
  • Managed.com
  • 10 Pound Gorilla
  • DNN4Less
  • IowaComputerGurus
  • Siteimprove
Note: DNN Summit is organized and run by DNN Association, a non-profit organization run by volunteers. DNN Corp. is helping support the event as a sponsor.

If you’re part of the DNN ecosystem and don’t see your organization on the list, this post gives you reasons to think about sponsoring.

1) Ecosystem Momentum: Catch the Wave

In August 2017, ESW Capital acquired DNN Corp. with a stated goal of investing further in the platform and open source ecosystem.

Since the acquisition, there’s been renewed energy and a whirlwind of activity in the ecosystem, from CEO Andy Tryba’s virtual user conferences to an increase in pull requests, to DNN Corp. joining the .NET Foundation.

In a post here on the Community blog, Andy provided his post-acquisition thoughts, while announcing the formation of Ecosystem Advisory Groups. I wrote an article at CMS-Connected that summarized recent ecosystem activity.

We’re expecting all of this renewed interest to come to a head in Denver, where we’ll spend a few days and nights conversing and collaborating around DNN. There’s no better time to catch the wave.

2) Worth Your Investment

What’s a key challenge of most trade show and conference sponsorships? Meeting and connecting with the “right” people. In other words: attendees who are a good fit for your organization’s products and services.

100% of Summit attendees are DNN users, so you know that your sponsorship dollars are going to good use. Every person you meet at the event is a potential customer of the DNN products and services you provide.

3) Upgrade Your Organization's DNN Know-How

Given that you sell DNN-related products and services, keeping up on the latest DNN developments is essential to the growth of your business. There’s no better place to get your team trained and informed than events like DNN Summit.

Some of the leading DNN experts will be presenting sessions. In addition, send some of your team to DNN training sessions on Introduction to DNN, Administration, Theming and Module Development.

Related post on the Summit blog: Why Your Boss Should Send You to Training at DNN Summit 2018.

4) Network and Build Connections at the Sponsor Dinner

As a sponsor, you’ll receive free tickets to the Speaker-Sponsor dinner, which takes place on the evening of Day 1 (e.g. the same day that training takes place). Beyond the food and drink, you’ll have the opportunity to network with the presenters, along with other sponsors.

Who knows, perhaps you’ll find a new business partner. And if you didn’t hear, the keynote presenters are Andy Tryba and Shaun Walker. Maybe you’ll spot them at the dinner.

5) Inform Your 2018 Content and Marketing

Yes, I’m thinking like a marketer here: after spending 2-4+ days engaging with DNN users, administrators, developers, partners and ISV’s, you and your team will have a good sense of what the ecosystem is thinking about.

Use the insights and knowledge gained to tune and optimize your 2018 content, marketing and business strategy related to DNN. If you sell commercial modules, Summit can help you understand what new modules to develop. If you sell implementation services, it can help you identify new services to roll out.

The Perspective of a First-Time Sponsor

Siteimprove is a company that “transforms the way organizations manage and deliver their digital presence.” They’ll be a first-time sponsor to DNN Summit and are excited to join the DNN community in Denver. Here’s a quote from Torben Rytt, CEO of Siteimprove:

“Siteimprove has been working to improve workflows by integrating our intelligence platform with popular CMS platforms. Our list of growing CMS Plugins has allowed for more ease of use and a better overall customer experience. We are excited to be able to showcase our newest integration with DNN at the DNN Summit in 2018, and look forward to continued innovation and collaboration with CMS communities worldwide.”

Take the Next Step

If I managed to get you thinking about a DNN Summit 2018 sponsorship, the next step is your’s. Contact the DNN Summit team at info@dnnsummit.org and ask for more details about sponsorship. Hope to see you in Denver!
