About

New Community Website

Ordinarily, you'd be at the right spot, but we've recently launched a brand new community website... For the community, by the community.

Yay... Take Me to the Community!

The Community Blog is a personal opinion of community members and by no means the official standpoint of DNN Corp or DNN Platform. This is a place to express personal thoughts about DNNPlatform, the community and its ecosystem. Do you have useful information that you would like to share with the DNN Community in a featured article or blog? If so, please contact .

The use of the Community Blog is covered by our Community Blog Guidelines - please read before commenting or posting.

DNNCon Wrap-Up and Blog Series

As most of you know, DNNCon 2014 took place on Friday, November 8 and Saturday, November 9 in West Palm Beach, Florida.  I had the opportunity to attend along with other DNN Corp. representatives Charles Nurse, Clint Patterson, Joe Brinkman, and Will Morgenweck.  I think it is safe to say that we all enjoyed meeting new Community members and reconnecting with those we have known for years (or may have only known through phone calls, emails discussions, or interactions on dnnsoftware.com).

I would like to thank the Arrow team who put on such a great event as well as the Community members who attended DNNCon, who presented and attended sessions, who asked questions and gave feedback, and who on a daily basis invest their time and efforts in enhancing the DNN Platform and Community.  As the first Community event I have had the pleasure to attend, I wanted to point out a few things that were VERY clear at the event:

  • Our Community members are willing to travel great distances for the opportunity to share information and connect with other DNN users.  There were people from all over the US, many from Europe, and even attendees from Nigeria and Singapore!
  • Our Community members like to have fun!  There was definitely a lot of learning going on, but that didn’t stop the group from laughing, enjoying conversation over food and drink, or presenting or enjoying a humorous Ignite session.  The way many Community members interacted and made jokes with each other almost seemed like catching up with the cousin you don’t see often – but always pick right up where you left off with.
  • Our Community gives back.  Throughout their planning, DNNCon organizers worked to save money on event expenses and were able to donate $10,250 to Place of Hope, a local charity in Palm Beach.  In addition, reminded by another Community member of his previous Ignite session, Ernst Peter Tamminga has again shared information about the DNN Community team on Kiva.
  • Our Community members are smart, and inventive!  All you had to do was look at the schedule to see this – there were so many interesting sessions, it was hard to choose which one to attend.

And in order to continue to communicate the information that was shared at DNNCon, we have invited all speakers to create a blog with information from their sessions (cross-listed on the DNNCon Blog).  We hope you will find this information useful, and if you weren’t able to attend this year, we hope you will start to think about attending future events.  Here’s a preview of the information to come.  As new blogs are added, I’ll update this entry to link to them.
