Community Challenge

One of the biggest benefits to my new role at DNN Corp is that I get to spend more time working with our awesome community.  I have built many great friendships in this community over the last 12 years.  One thing that I have always believed about building open source communities is that you need passion for what you are doing.  If you are truly passionate, and you share that passion with others, it can become infectious.  Others will feed off of your passion and energy and will in time become passionate about he project as well.  People love being around other people who have passion and drive.

In many respects the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge is a lot like working in community on an Open Source project.  One guy with a dream and a lot of passion can ignite a spark in others that spreads around the world.  Yesterday this spark reached Medina, Ohio as I was challenged by Chris Hammond to accept the Ice Bucket Challenge.  Below is my video formally accepting Chris’s challenge.
