Get Involved in Open Source

As an Open Source project, the community plays a special role in the development of the platform. Often some of the best feature ideas originate with a community member.  Community members also provide a lot of feedback on issues that were not caught by our QA team.  Recently, the project has been getting more and more code contributions which are also an important part of any Open Source project.

One of the challenges with any Open Source project is how to help new community members get involved.  Often developers would like to submit code fixes or feature enhancements, but they just aren’t sure of the process. 

Peter Donker, a DNN MVP and long time community member, recently did a nice write-up on Contributing to the DNN platform using Git and GitHub.  I decided to do a video to supplement the information that Peter provided. In the video I cover the entire process starting with submitting a bug report through making the fix and submitting the final pull request.
