With DNN 7.3 now available everywhere, I thought I would do a quick post showing all various Community Voice suggestions that were included.

Make 51 Degrees and Optional Provider
Created by David O’Leary. The request was to make 51 Degrees an optional provider.
The new version of 51 Degrees included in 7.3 is 100x faster and smaller than the previous version. The exponential proliferation of devices and browsers had caused growing pains and so the new version of 51 Degrees solves the problem in a different way, one which is faster and less memory intensive. This new version is included in 7.3, and a new option to disable device detection has been introduced. However, I’m sure most people won’t feel the need to remove device detection because the new version fixes any issues which were present.

Make it easier to find Modules in the Add Module bar
Created by Joe Brinkman. This change adds a search box to the Add Module control bar, so any module in the list can be found. Just start typing in the search box and any matching modules will be found.
SMTP Settings by Site/Portal
Created by Anonymous. This change involves setting the SMTP server at a portal level, allowing different portals to use different SMTP servers.

Support Mouse Wheel Scrolling for Add Modules in the Control Bar
By Stuart Hilbert. A simple change that allows you to use the scroll wheel to move the Add Modules control bar backwards and forwards while hovering over the area with the mouse. The control bar also supports ‘grab and drag’ for scrolling, and has implemented lazy loading for faster load times. Combined with bookmarking and search, the usability of the Add Modules feature has been improved a lot with 7.3.
Please keep the Community Voice suggestions and voting coming – it’s a great way for the DNN Community to share ideas and build support for features which are popular with the very people who use DNN regularly. A big thanks to those who contributed their Voice Suggestions and those who voted on them – your actions do make a difference to the product.
