Introducing myself

Last week i was appointed project lead for the Announcements module. Like so many before me probably came to the same conclusion: i would have never imagined doing free stuff just for the benefit for a community. Before DotNetNuke® happened to me about 2 years ago (i was a "late adopter" starting with version 2.1.2), i would have laughed at anyone suggesting something like that. Ever since i am working (almost) exclusively with DNN and making money with it, i feel it is my obligation to return something substantial to the DNN community. What better way than to be actively creating core modules?

Although i am reasonably experienced in creating modules for DNN, it's something different to be creating a Core Module. Packaging is important, help texts are important, functionality has to be rock solid and of course no perfomance and security issues. Everything is just a bit different than creating your own modules.. I will do my best to make this module into a module that can be used as a good sample of a good DNN module.
