People who followed the Events forum (one of the most active ones for core modules) will have noticed that the contribution of Michael Kamp is missing for some weeks already.
Michael was very active in the forum, answering questions almost before a person had written them down. Also, as Events team member, he did an excellent job on testing, test scenario's, discussing new enhancements and more. All in all, a person I would certainly like to have as colleague in my professional job, let alone as Events team member.
A couple of weeks ago he mailed me that he had to undergo eye surgery and would be 'off-line' for some weeks. His doctors advised him on to stay away from a PC monitors and TV screens for some time. Yesterday he mailed me that the 'some time' will be longer than just a couple of weeks. It will be more in the order of months, if not longer. After two eye operations he is still forced to stay away from computer and TV screens for most of his time. Hence no contribution to the team, nor to the community.
@Michael: (who presumably does not read this, nevertheless): we wish you all the best. Personal health is so much more important than free time contribution to any open source project. We value your contribution and expect to 'see' each other in better circumstances, 'auf wiedersehen'.
