I first joined VNU Publitec as an applications developer in June 1999 when I moved to the Netherlands from London in the United Kingdom. I was over qualified for the role but took it knowing that with in no time I would prove my skills and show my work. Within 6 months I was promoted to a Technical Project Leader for a large project, designing and developing a front office sales force automation system.
I have demonstrated leadership skills by managing over 25 software developers; and was awarded the "Award of Excellence" by VNU Publitec.
As a technical architect for VNU Publitec, I provided an interoperability layer for Java J2EE and Visual Basic 6. The task was challenging as it had to pave the way for the future upgrade of Visual Basic 6 components to VB.NET with the least amount of rework.
I also showed British Telecoms International Settlements that office automation of mundane task can improve on product quality. This was evident with a settlement and reminder system I created which captured some £105 million of unclaimed settlements.
I first came in contact with DotNetNuke® long before the name itself. .NET lead me to ASP.NET which then lead me to the IBuySpy web project. At the time I thought this rocks, then I discovered IBuySpyWorkshop later to be renamed DotNetNuke and I have never looked back.
I am constantly designing and developing new modules for DotNetNuke®, giving even more added functionality to what is already in the box. Some can be found on my site http://www.subzero-solutions.net. I am also the founder of the Netherlands and European DotNetNuke® user groups and worked closely with Microsoft to achieve this.
Watching the project grow from strength to strength really gives me the want; to promote, to use and to develop with DotNetNuke®, and if your reading this, I guess you're feel the same ;)
