Amendment to my last Blog re Announcements Version 03.03.01

Let's put it down to too much fun in the sun while I was on holidays at Hamilton Island last week (located within the Great Barrier Reef in Australia... the largest coral reef in our fair planet) but I made a mistake in my last blog entry when reporting on the changes to the Announcement module Version 03.03.01. Please forgive me!

I spoke of the way the Publish Date setting worked and stated that the announcement appeared on that date... not true. All Announcement records appears as soon as you Add them to the module. The Publish Date setting simply controls the date displayed beside the announcement.

One other thing which I didn't mention, which I think is valuable functionality on this setting, is that the Publish Date also controls the default view order of announcements. For Example: let's say you have three announcements listed down the module dated 1st, 2nd and 3rd of January respectively. If you edit and update the content of the announcement on the 2nd, it will still appear in the middle position. In previous versions the most recently updated would be moved to the 1st position, requiring a bit of work using View Order to get them back into the right order. The View Order setting is still available, but this new method is much better.
