DotNetNuke ignored and embraced

Two days ago I posted a link to a recent conversation between Michael Desmond from Redmond Magazine and DNN founder Shaun Walker. Today, a follow up blog post at the magazine's site expands on the Open Source On .Net topic and mentions Shaun's opinion about insufficient attention to DNN and its ecosystem by Microsoft.

Should we have a warmer embracement by the Redmondites? And exactly how should the framework team be treated to ensure a benefit to everyone? These two questions have been in my mind for quite a long time. It is not the fact that DNN is not growing (because it is), but the potential it has to take the world by storm with such an embracement from other Microsoft units.

So what is your take? Do you think DNN needs more Microsoft love? Would it be too weird to have a closer relationship with other areas from Microsoft?
