Made it to Redmond

I am now sitting in my hotel in Seattle Washington.  First impressions are great, beautiful weather (they tell me this is normal for this time of year so all those stories you hear about it always raining must be some sort of conspiracy!), people are friendly and there are lots of cool and funky places to go.  Here's a shot of the famous Pike St Markets where the fish shop that throws the fish around is located.  Quite good fun to watch them put on a bit of a show when someone buys some fish. 

Getting here wasnt difficult either.  13 hours from Melbourne (AU) to LA then by the time I got through customs and immigration it was time to board my flight to Seattle.  So I dont have any impression of LA yet but will soon when I head back there on Saturday.  I flew United Airlines and scored the emergency row which is such a blessing for a 100 kg 6'2" guy!! 

Last night I stayed with a friend of mine Jason McConnell who recently moved here from Melbourne.  He works for Microsoft in Redmond now and has a funky pad in downtown Seattle.  This morning I went to work with jason and checked out the MS campus.  Man that place is HUGE.  40+ buildings with about 1000 in the building Jason is in so there must be a few bodies getting around :)

Tonight I am catching up with Martin Granell for dinner and a few beers, which will be fun.
