This month we had a tie for the winner of our July Site of the Month Contest! So both sites will be considered winners and both will be entered into our Site of the Year Contest. The winner of the Site of the Year Contest will be announced at DotNetNuke World in Orlando on November 10th
Congratulations to our two winners!
City of Brantford Web Team for submitting myBrantford.ca – The City of Brantford eServices Portal
DotNetNuke Edition: Enterprise Edition 5.6.2
According to Scott “The myBrantford.ca portal is a complimentary site to our main City of Brantford website (brantford.ca) in that it was designed to be a launch pad to the variety of eServices that we offer online. Categories of eServices range from Recreation programs and registration, employment opportunities, bids and tenders to directories and service/information requests. The portal was designed to allow citizens the opportunity to create an account and begin to take advantage of some of the enhanced features that we've provided with the DotNetNuke modules. For example, a registered user will be able to submit and track service requests online (myRequests) and dialogue with City staff using the OldTurtle Bizsuite 2.0 Helpdesk module. We've also provided the functionality for registered users to submit and manage their public events for display on our Community Calendar. We have over ten calendars available on the website using the InvenManager Event Calendar and Registration module, some of which allow registered users to submit events, while others are managed by City Staff. Another feature that we included at launch was our mySubscriptions, whereby registered users can subscribe to newsletters, alerts and/or bulletins for a variety of topics. For this feature we made use of Data Springs Opt in Email module allowing staff to manage their subscription lists, publish and send emails to the various subscribers.
This is just the beginning for us at the City of Brantford. Over the next few months we will continue to introduce new functionality to the site including property tax and utility account inquiry, eCommerce (pay bills and services), enhanced mapping and published open data catalogue, surveys/polls, registration/booking and numerous on-line forms (with and without payment).....just to name a few!”
