Today, new versions have been released for Blog, Store and Forums modules:
- While Blog 3.3.1 is a point release with a few changes, it addresses a problems shown up after a server security upgrade and users of previous version shall upgrade.
- Store 2.1.0 has integrated many enhancements from WWStore and we are very glad about the successful cooperation of the french User Group within the team.
- Forum 4.4.3 is a major rewrite of the forums module with a number of enhancements, new features and bug fixes. It shall soon be installed on DotNetNuke as well.
I would like to thank all Team Leads and their teams for their effort as well as all participants in the release process.
I also apologize for any inconvenience, due to long tracking process duration; the DotNetNuke Core Team is well aware, that this did not meet the communities expectations and we refined this process in order to speed it up: According to the experiences, Staging and Dogfooding on DotNetNuke.com are now separated from the process, and new resources have been assigned to execute validation and testing. I have been asked to coordinate the process and I am glad, that Alex will verify Gemini issue tracking, Timo will validate XHTML compliance, Cathal care for Security, Erik and I for localizability and our new tester Matthias will perform installation and function tests of the modules - by far the most time consuming part of the process.
It is our common aim, to track modules through the process quickly, but with the necessary attention to ensure, that they can be safely and properly used. This will include, that submitted modules might fail and need to be corrected and resubmitted, getting validated and tested again until they meet the minimum requirements and you can enjoy them in your portals.
