DotNetNuke Page Navigator: Recursive Drop Down List

I needed to make a module that allows users to add categories and sub-categories with unlimited nesting.

I decided that the best administrative interface to handle this would be a drop-down that allowed you to select the category and then add the sub category. I also wanted the drop-down to show the nested position of each category.

Realizing that I would probably use this code again I made a quick example using the DotNetNuke tabs table and posted the code at this link.

The thing to note is that even though the list of tabs can be huge there is only one hit to the database. Linq is used to query the collection over and over as the code walks the tree to create the nested list.

I added one line to actually navigate to the selected page, but this is an example of a recursive drop-down not a module intended to be of any real usefulness.

(Note: Normally you would not make a module that accesses the DotNetNuke core tables directly because they could change. The core table is only used for demonstration)
