Last year was quite successful. Together with Sebastian we worked out some new releases of UDT. We added a lot of new features. The upcoming release was planned as a simple maintenance release, however it turned into an exciting point release again and I promise you that we keep on improving this module.
Last summer I was promoted as project lead for the XML module. As a result of my efforts, a new release of the XML module has been entered to the Release Tracker last December. I am sure I will blog about its new features in short time. The new release is going to support query string parameters for XML Url access and Xsl parameters.
The code for the XML parameter collection was borrowed from the IFrame module. Unfortunally the current release of IFrame has a package issue that prevent its correct operation. I fixed this and some other issues. A a new IFrame release will happen soon. It entered the Release tracker one week after the Xml module.
I appreciate to notice that the usage inside DotNetNuke of XML and XSL is rising over the time. UDT has a XSL rendering engine, Reports supports XSL and I am thinking that we will find even more places to go.
I was pleased reading Andrews blog today - his ideas to support multiple data sources are quite similar to my own road map ideas for XML. Perhaps this is a place where we could join our efforts.
At last I don't want to hide that I also belong to the group of new promoted members of the DotNetNuke Core Team. I am sure that this well help improving our work.
This year is going to be a great DotNetNuke year. I am excited to be a part of it.
