Enhancement: Publish Date setting on Announcement module (Version 03.03.01)

Following my previous post on the enhancements made to the Announcements module Versopm 03.03.00 shipped with DNN 03.03.01, the latest upgrade has now been released. The latest upgrade DNN 04.03.02 now ships with Annoucements module 03.03.01 and brings back the greatly missed Publish Date control which permits Content Editors to select and maintain the date displayed beside each announcement.

The new Publish Date setting controls not only the date displayed beside the announcement, but also controls the first date which the announcement is displayed in the module.

Working with the new setting is much easier now. Previously once the date was added the Content Editor needed to manually modify the date using key strokes, or by deleting the saved date and selecting to add the current date again. In the latest release, the more elegant method let's the Content Editor select the date by clicking the Calendar link to access the Calendar control.

One change to the module which may disappoint some users will be the current inability to delete the date from the Publish Date field. Doing so currently causes an error in the module. A workaround for this error is to remove [PUBLISHDATE] from the Announcement Settings. This will hide all publish dates for this module.
