Forums Post vs. Blog Comment

After pondering this a while, considering the impact on the Blogger, the reader, those that come in after the fact I have determined that there is some fundamental differences in what is appropriate to add as comment in a blog vs. post in a forum.  Below is what I have determined are in fact legitimate Blog comments vs. what needs to be in a forum and why.

This is really a Forum item not a comment or blog entry item.  The reason I say this is because of the following 3 points:

  1. It is very interactive and can easily get off topic
  2. More than one person may have the issue and they will be inclined to search a forum long before a blog (thought that is changing)
  3. If the forums you are more likely to get a timely answer and more than one person is likely to assist you.

In 90% of the cases this list above is enough to help a person find the appropriate location(s) for our comments and questions.

That pretty much ends my rant for today (I obviously had too much time on my hands today lol).
