About

New Community Website

Ordinarily, you'd be at the right spot, but we've recently launched a brand new community website... For the community, by the community.

Yay... Take Me to the Community!

The Community Blog is a personal opinion of community members and by no means the official standpoint of DNN Corp or DNN Platform. This is a place to express personal thoughts about DNNPlatform, the community and its ecosystem. Do you have useful information that you would like to share with the DNN Community in a featured article or blog? If so, please contact .

The use of the Community Blog is covered by our Community Blog Guidelines - please read before commenting or posting.

Are you the BIGGEST Fan of DotNetNuke in the World?

DNN Corp, San Mateo has never been so GEEKY!

Do you LOVE DotNetNuke?  Do you find yourself running to DotNetNuke events, or jumping to the front of a line just to get a DotNetNuke t-shirt?  Have you had the uncontrollable urge to take a picture with the logo, put the logo on something, or meet and greet with some of the most well-known folks in the DotNetNuke community?

DSC02513

You have seen myself an others do all kinds of things that either intentionally or unintentionally has displayed our love (or obsession) for DotNetNuke.  Honestly, if you would have ever seen some of my DNN love letters that I’ve sent internally at DNN Corporation, you probably would be inspired to create a DNN rehab center.  Hahaha!  But no matter if we’re talking about myself or anyone else, it raises a very important question… Who is the world’s DotNetNuke SUPER fan?  Could it be you?

DotNetNuke SUPER Fan Contest

I am very humbled and honored at being the one to announce to all of you one of our most prestigious contests ever…  We are looking for the world’s DotNetNuke SUPER Fan.  This is a contest where we are looking for you to show the world in some way that you are the biggest and most passionate fan of DotNetNuke!

How can you show us?  Easy.  Anything can technically be a submission to the contest.  It could be a photo, a video, a blog, a website, or anything else that you can think of.  Whatever it is, it must be family-friendly, and we need to be able to either link to it or display it on the DotNetNuke website.

How to Win

We have a thriving community for DNN, which is quickly approaching 1 million members (and those are only the ones we know about).  Everyone in the world will be voting for you entry.  The entry that received the most votes will win the contest.  It’s that simple.  All you have to do is submit an entry that really does impress the rest of the community.

We are accepting entries beginning today.  We will stop accepting entries on August 31, 2011.

Voting by the community will begin on Sept. 15, 2011.  Voting will end at the beginning of DotNetNuke World (November 9, 2011) and the results will be announced at the conference.

Everyone except DNN Corp employees and family members are eligible to win prizes, but anyone can submit entries.

Example Entries

You may have seen or remember some media examples in the past.  For example, you may remember a video commercial about DotNetNuke that Data Springs did last year.  You probably have seen my recent video entitled “DotNetNuke Corp. Employees Gone Wild!”  However, one of my personal favorites is a video that Clint Patterson did showing him and his wife making a DNN logo cake!

What Can You Win?

Only the top 3 places will win.  Second place in the contest will win the envied DNN-branded XBox 360 Kinect (250 GB).  Third place will win a DNN-branded Kindle.  The grand prize is something that even I am jealous of…

If you are voted to be the world’s DotNetNuke SUPER Fan, you will win an all expenses paid trip to San Mateo, CA, where you will spend an entire day and evening with us (up to $1,500.00 cash value).  You will have meetings and conversations with whoever you want, complete with a lunch and dinner with members of DNN Corp.  You never know who might be in the office too!

How to Enter

DotNetNuke 6First of all, just for entering the contest, you will receive this high-speed, low-drag, DotNetNuke 6.0 mug!  Early reports from those who have been using the mug indicate a 275% or more boost in DNN productivity!  Some have even mentioned super DNN powers!

If you have an entry, simply e-mail it to me at will.strohl@dnncorp.com.  Be sure to include:

  • Your DotNetNuke website username
  • Your First and Last Name
  • Your shipping address (for the free DNN 6.0 mug)
  • Any relevant details about your entry (description, image, link, embed code, etc.)

So… How about it?  Can you show everyone in the world that YOU are the DotNetNuke SUPER fan?

This blog entry is cross-posted from my personal blog site.
