The Community Blog is a personal opinion of community members and by no means the official standpoint of DNN Corp or DNN Platform. This is a place to express personal thoughts about DNNPlatform, the community and its ecosystem. Core Team Meeting 2/17

Some of what the team talks about is subject to non-disclosure so we can't fully document the meeting. But we do want folks to know the nature of discussions that are occurring. The following are some notes from our dialog today.

There were 18 folks in attendance today, half corporate employees and half community members.

Announcements / News / Reminders

Day of DotNetNuke Orlando, speaker submissions open
CMS Expo in May, Chicago. Full day track on DotNetNuke, Joe Brinkman, Shaun Walker and Chris Hammond will be speaking.
Microsoft MVP Summit kicks off on February 28 and we'll meet up with our MVP's for some fun
Cathal Connolly will be introducing DotNetNuke's Razor implementation for the WebMatrix launch in Dublin, Ireland.
DNN Europe is hosting pre and post meetings for the SDE DotNetNuke event, March 18 (so 17-19)
The DNN Europe meeting ("WebConnections") scheduled for June 16/17 in Hamburg
Phil Beadle and Lorraine Young are about to celebrate 10 wonderful years of marriage! *grin*

Product and Engineering Updates
5.6.2 Maintenance Release

The development sprint is wrapping up early next week.
Community modules which want to be packaged with the release need to be through the Community Release Tracker by February 24 to be considered.

Next Major Release

Current development sprint wrapping up at the end of this month
Two more sprints to follow.
Ensure that any items for the next sprint (bug fixes or enhancement) have well documented Gemni tickets to ensure they are triaged for consideration. Issues with code suggestions will be handled most expediently.

Release Tracker & Forge Updates

Encouraging everyone to look at next release code for module optimization when able.
Confirmed requirement for core modules to function within minimum platform requirements (ASP.Net 3.5 SP1, SQL 2005, etc).
Updated versions of Forum, Blog and Documents in the tracker currently.

Community Team Updates

Experience Team preparing to announce 2011 Design Challenge soon!
Forge Team preparing to implement substantial changes to the DotNetNuke Forge. First phase will be private to the team for data collection and preparation for public launch.
