I am happy to announce the winner of the March 2011 DotNetNuke Site of the Month Contest – DotNetMushroom. Justin Mifsud (www.matthewmifsud.com.mt) submitted the website of artist Matthew Mifsud (yes that’s his brother).
Matthew is a 27 year old artist (and chef by profession) He has built a very promising reputation both locally (Malta, Europe) and abroad and has jointly exhibited with other local and foreign artists. His main style is abstract and specializes in the use of acrylics and pastel touches.
Overview of project: As Justin describes, “the main challenge in this project was to provide all the necessary information but still place the client’s paintings and photography at the centre of attention. This was achieved using a seamless, minimalist design. The use of the dark gray background makes a very important contribution in bringing out the vivacity of the colours present in the paintings. It also brought out minute details that were hidden in the darker work. Overall, the project was very pleasant to work on and since the client just gave us an idea of what he wanted and left it in our hands to come up with the concept, it only took us 4 days from mock up design to deployment! Yet another witness to the power of the DotNetNuke!”
How they used DotNetNuke: “As with all our web sites and web-based applications, we naturally opted for DotNetNuke as we have consistently done for the past five years. At that time we had reached a cross-road between developing our own CMS or opting for a ready-made one. Following an in-depth analysis from various aspects which included but was not limited to flexibility and robustness, we had chosen DotNetNuke and I can assure you that we never looked back. In this project, DotNetNuke is used to power the entire site and we have given access to the client to update the content himself mainly through the use of the Telerik RADEditor and admin forms created using DotNetMushroom RAD.”
Version of DotNetNuke: Community Edition 05.05.01 (22)
Modules: DotNetMushroom RAD was used to develop the Gallery and the Contact Form. The site also uses MediaANT Guestbook Pro.
Congratulations to Justin and the DotNetMushroom Team!
