DNN only recently provided the ability to edit module titles and the content of the Text/Html module inline. Whilst the inline editing feature decreased the time and effort required to make small text adjustments, some users felt however that the editing was too easy to do and could lead to mistakes.
DNN 4.5 now provides administrators with the ability to choose whether to provide inline editing or not by providing a Inline Editor Enabled? check box option in the new Usability section of the Site Settings page. Check this option to enable inline editing of module titles and the Text/Html module, or uncheck to disable it.
Note that at the time of writing, which is DNN 4.5 pre-release, that disabling inline editing only disabled inline module title editing and not Text/Html inline editing as it should.
A further enhancement has been made to the way inline editing of module titles is handled in DNN 4.5. When you mouse over the module title an edit button is displayed above the title, see image below. This is designed to stop users from accidentally selecting the edit option from the module menu.
