DotNetNuke Connections: Discounted Room Rate Extended Until August 16

If you’ve been planning on attending this year’s DotNetNuke Connections event in Las Vegas, now is the time to book your hotel room.  Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino has extended its discounted room rate until August 16th. In addition, you can still save $100 on early bird conference registration if you register prior to September 1st.

Here is the full info published by DevConnections:  “Early bird offer expires August 16th: Book 3 nights at Mandalay Bay for only $149/night plus tax and receive a $100 Mandalay Bay gift card. To reserve your room please call 800-438-6720 or 203-400-6121.”

I’ve been to Las Vegas on several occasions now, and stayed in a handful of resorts and hotels.  I’ve also had the good fortune to attend each of the past DotNetNuke conferences held in conjunction with DevConnections.

People often ask me where they should stay when they come to this great annual conference.  I never hesitate to suggest Mandalay Bay.  Here are a couple of reasons:

Proximity to the conference venue is a huge factor.  When you’re attending an event with sessions that run from early morning to late afternoon, it can often make for a long day.  The convenience of having quick access to the conference area from your hotel room can’t be understated, and staying at the hotel on-site can save you valuable time (and miles of walking!)

In addition, the fact that most of the speakers attendees typically stay at Mandalay Bay means that it ends up being the venue where the majority of the merriment and networking inevitably takes place in between the days’ sessions.  You can always find fellow DotNetNuke community members in the restaurants, lounges, and other gathering areas of Mandalay Bay.

On a more personal note, my wife has informed me that she is not to be left behind when I depart for this year’s DotNetNuke Connections.  This is surely a by-product of having snapped photos of my hotel room last year and zipped them home; also sharing some descriptions of dinners I enjoyed in Mandalay Bay’s restaurants (she is a culinary enthusiast); or my talk of having seen people sun-tanning poolside at the resort.  My point here: If you have a loved one like mine who needs a holiday, and they want to join you on your conference trek, a wealth of opportunities and experiences can be found at Mandalay Bay.

Hope to see you all at DotNetNuke Connections ’10.
