Wow, what an event this has been! If you're not familiar with them, DotNetNuke Hackathon’s are essentially programming contests which encourage developers to dive into open source development in specific technology areas. About every other month we work with a User Group to coordinate local events which are also live streamed. We work with vendors and sponsors to provide educational presentations in the chosen technology and kick off a week long period of programming. Participants create Forge projects for their entries and we showcase them for you to try out and pick your favorites.
The DotNetNuke Mobile Hackathon, conducted in cooperation with the St. Louis DotNetNuke User Group, Appcelerator and HyperCrunch, has been an awesome event and generated some really nice applications! Typically, the short duration of the event (only a week of development) results in applications which are small, limited or even simple examples. But this event has drawn some really terrific talent and produced some very interesting, very functional entries!
The goal of this event was to demonstrate use of DotNetNuke in mobile applications. Entries were submitted for both Android and iPhone devices doing everything from exposing Snowcovered products to posting images to a gallery from your phones camera! Great entries for some great prizes… grand prize receives an Apple iPad Wi-Fi 16GB, local (present at St. Louis event) and online runners up will receive HTC Hero Smartphones (or equivalent)!
Thank you to ALL of our participants for their entries (in no particular order)! You can see them all, view their videos and download the code from the entries page.
Congratulations to the DotNetNuke Mobile Hackathon grand prize winner, selected by community popular vote:
