It is unfortunate that the long-awaited Day Of DotNetNuke event in Florida got cancelled today. Will Strohl, creator of the event, officially published a note about the news for this year earlier today. However, don’t get too bummed out just yet because you can still have a chance to attend this awesome Day Of DotNetNuke in the Midwest area.
Yep! The St. Louis and Chicago DotNetNuke User Groups have teamed up and we are proud to announce the Chicago Day Of DotNetNuke event is coming up on October 2, 2010 in the Chicagoland area.
Ian Robinson and I had been discussing this opportunity for a few months and we had talked to Scott Willhite about this a while ago. But summer often isn’t a good time to reach everybody and get organized for the event. Everybody was on vacations and it slowed things down for us.
But the past few weeks we were very aggressive in the process of planning. Having a great conversation and guidance from the creator of the event himself, Will Strohl, we were on the right track of getting started and up and running. Ian and I reached out to the leaders of the Chicago User Group and without hesitation, Don Gingold and James Nagy (two big DotNetNuke community supporters) jumped on board and the four of us got started with the process of planning.
We have nailed down the date and venue for the event and are currently finalizing the sponsorship package and speaker information.
So by now you should have a firm date on your calendar about the event and hope you can make it. Be there to show your support to DotNetNuke, share your knowledge and experience with the community, and last but not least, to network with the people who are like you working on this platform on everyday basis from across the country and potentially around the world. You’ll never know if there are international speakers who can make it to this event.
Please visit the Chicago Day Of DotNetNuke website for more detail and most up-to-date information about the event and stay tuned for more announcements to come really soon.
