Hi,

I am trying to develop a module in DNN 6.2.2 using the christoper codeplex compile module. My application is not in IIS so in the C# compiled module (.csproj) file i changed iis setting to False and replace the zip file in web folder. But it didn't work.

I am getting the error that the application is not in IIS and also asking to run the visual studio as administrator.  I am using VS2010.

Could you help me in solving this issue.

Thanks,

Regards,

Sandeep

Sandeep, the templates are designed for IIS, and DNN runs best when using IIS, I would recommend installing IIS and starting there.

You do have to start Visual Studio as an administrator when using IIS as these templates require

I am facing the same problem. My dotnetnuke default website is working properly in the domain "localhost" which physical path corresponds to C:\inetpub\dotnetnuke

I have done exactly the same as given in the video changing the $DevEnvironment$" Value="localhost"  in DotNetNuke C# Compiled Module.vstemplate but when i create a new module in the VS2010 i got the following error:-

The Web Application Project NewModule is configured to use IIS.The Web Server 'http://dnndev/desktopmodule/NewMOdule could not be found'.

I am using Visual Studio 2010,dnn 6.x.Please help me.

Thanks

Rachit, it looks like I missed an edit in the template, you can modify the ModuleName.csproj file to replace the DNNDev references

http://dnndev/desktopmodules/$safeprojectname$/
True

Dear Chris,

I have followed exactly the tutorial for creating the basic module. My website can be accessed perfectly through http://dnndev or http:// localhost.

But alas, I'm having the same issue like Rachit above when I'm creating a new module in Visual Studio.

The Web Application Project DNNExplained is configured to use IIS.The Web Server 'http://dnndev/desktopmodule/Explained could not be found'.

My DNNExplained.vbproj settings as below:

 <IISUrl>http://dnndev/DesktopModules/DNNExplained</IISUrl>
 <OverrideIISAppRootUrl>True</OverrideIISAppRootUrl>
 <IISAppRootUrl>http://dnndev/</IISAppRootUrl>

Could you please help me point on where I might did wrong here?

Regards
