I noticed the linkedin authentication provider is in the DNN source, but it doesn't seem to be working/finished.

is there an ETA when the linkedin authentication provider will be ready?

Thanks

I am not aware of anyone focusing on it at DNN Corp.

I was also wondering when this will be available.... Source code has been there for a long time. Is there a reason why this isn't actively developed on, or finished? I tried to load the login provider my self. I does redirect to Linkedin etc but when returning to dnn it fails.

Error in log

Message: DotNetNuke.Services.Exceptions.PageLoadException: There was an error deserializing the object of type DotNetNuke.Authentication.LinkedIn.Components.LinkedInUserData. Encountered unexpected character '<'. ---> System.Runtime.Serialization.SerializationException: There was an error deserializing the object of type DotNetNuke.Authentication.LinkedIn.Components.LinkedInUserData. Encountered unexpected character '<'. ---> System.Xml.XmlException: Encountered unexpected character '<'.

 Which is generated from this function:

public TUserData GetCurrentUser<TUserData>() where TUserData : UserData

One step further:

Noticed that endpoint in LinkedInClient class was:

MeGraphEndpoint = new Uri("http://api.linkedin.com/v1/people/~");

Which returned XML so jsondeserialize fails, so i changed it to this so it works

MeGraphEndpoint = new Uri("http://api.linkedin.com/v1/people/~?format=json");

But now i have a new error :)

And yet another step :)

Changed it to this:

MeGraphEndpoint = new Uri("http://api.linkedin.com/v1/people/~:(id,first-name,last-name,email-address,formatted-name)?format=json");

RequestTokenEndpoint = new Uri("https://api.linkedin.com/uas/oauth/requestToken?scope=r_emailaddress");

This way you have the needed id. At this point I'm able to login successfully (although it displays error). Probably this is because the firstname, lastname, email is not serialized.
