Hi,

I want to use wiki module for my cms using DOTNETNUKE (version DotNetNuke_04.08.02). But I want some different behaviour than the current.

I want to show docable menu of wiki to only administrator not normal user (which contains home, search, recent changes,Index(show) etc.)  & for normal just page of contents.

Is it possible with current wiki module. If YES/NO How to achieve it?

What should I do to change it?

I have open source wiki module (Wiki_04.00.01_Source) but which has so many errors. Can I get the error free source of wiki module. Where is it available?

Please give me solution!!!!!!!!!

Thanks

Varsha

There's a thread here in the forum that has a link to the missing resource files for the source code to build (http://www.dotnetnuke.com/Community/Forums/tabid/795/forumid/70/threadid/154476/scope/posts/Default.aspx)

there's a new version of the  Wiki module that will hopefully be available in the next month, assuming it makes it through the release process, it was submitted last week and you can monitor the status with this link -> http://www.dotnetnuke.com/Products/Development/ProjectReleaseTracking/tabid/997/Default.aspx

As for the changes you're looking to make, those will definitely require code modifications to make. You can check to see if a user is within a certain role, and hide that section of the control if they aren't.

Hi,

I added the resource file from your refference link. but  still my wiki source  contains error. Can I get any guide or document which gives me the information about wiki module development. I have the error on  the start.ascx for yak . Whenever I modified any code which does not affect.

For testing I had created my router.ascx & copy paste source code & design into router.ascx..vb & router.ascx respectively. In this way whatever I changed in router.ascx works. Same way I tried for start.ascx but which inherits WikiControlBase so all web controls have unknown member error. How to ues Yak webcotorls because which has also unknown element error. Please give me solution!!!! Is it anything wrong/missing in my wiki source which was downloaded from dotnetnuke download section. varsha

What is the error message you're getting?

Hi,

I use VS 2005 with WAP addOns. the wiki version is 4.0.1 . I added the resource file from your refference link still there are errors because of some refferences not found (Microsoft.ApplicationBlocks.Data.dll & DotNetNuke.dll) .When I added those refferences then project complied. Then I modified router.ascx & start.ascx according my modification i.e. menu hide & view topic history hide etc. Then I make resources.zip file with wiki project files. & then make actual Wiki_04.00.01_Source.zip file. When I installed it into dotnetnuke it successfully  installed. but when I tried to add wiki module it gives me error like

"A critical error has occurred.Object reference not set to an instance of an object." Please tell me what is wrong in my workaround.

Thanks
