HI everyone, I want to create a module about user and role manager. It should have ability to update the rolename, but when I use the UpdateRole funtion provided by DNN, it only update the role's description, not the rolename as I wanted. And I am a newbie in ASP.NET so can anyone tell me how can I connect to database and change the rolename directly from there?

Thank in advance

First make sure you have the correct portal ... so

Select * from Portals

and get the portalID for the portal whose role you are changing.

Now

Select * from Roles where PortalID = (put your portalID here)

Now review the Roles and find the RoleID for the Role whose name you want to change.

Now:

Update Roles Set RoleName = 'MyNewRoleName' Where RoleID = (put your RoleID here)
