In my first attempt to set up a DNN development environment on my local machine (WIN 8.1 pro with IIS version 8.5) .  I am not sure what worker process to give permissions to for the  dnndev.me folder.  The application pool exists, is running and is set to 4.0 - that part looks correct.  The videos and on-line docs say to grant permissions to iis appool\dnndev.me, but there is no user by that name.

Any suggestions?

check the windows user configured in Advanced Settings of your application pool, this user needs file system permission and might be used in SQL Server for integrated security.

Thanks, I solved it.  For anyone else who runs ito this problem, this article helped.

Explained why I could not find it by searching.  Also turns out i was typing two 'Ps' instead of three in 'APPPOOL'
