I am using dnn events in a social group setting. When a user that belongs to the group creates an event, it gets posted to the group journal but it is only seen in journal list by the user that posted it. No other group members can see the event in the journal list. I believe this is because the journal is posted with a journal security key of U999 (where 999 is the userid). If I change this setting to E in the database, everyone can then see it.  Maybe I am missing a setting but do not see anywhere that would affect this. I think that if a group user is entering a group event, it should show in the journal so everyone in the group can see it.  This is important for me as I create my own email digest of group journal activity that goes out to members of the group on a daily basis. My email shows all journal entries for the group but when the user goes to the group page, they don't see them without going to the group events page.

I am running the latest version of events with dnn 7.4.2

Also, if I am adding an event as admin and change the event owner to someone else, the journal gets created with the admin id not the event owner.

 Thanks

Thank you for your feedback. I am not using the events module for social groups myself, so something can be easily incorrect. I will put it on the list for investigation.

If you have any option to review the code itself and/or submit a pull request with a fix, it is greatly apprciated.

Hi Ernst

I would love to be able to pull the code but unfortunately,I am not an experienced  programmer but wish I was!!!  I have many ideas but frustrated at not being able to implement them :)

Thanks for taking a look at this. I appreciate your efforts.

Hi Ernst

I thought to look for a stored procedure that updates the Journal table from the events module and modify it to set the security key for groups to be E so everyone in the group could see the event in the journal list. I couldn't find a proc that does this. Is there one? and if so where would I find it?

 Thanks
