DNN Community edition 5.6.5 with either the Events 5.2.0 and now 5.2.1 Beta.  When viewing an events details and having permission to edit, the Edit and Return links show the progress bar but nothing else happens.  Same thing happens when viewing the Calendar in month view and selecting any of the following: '+' to add an event, week view, or list view.  It really apears that a view refresh is not occuring.  Also the cancel function when in add event, shows the progress bar and nothing appears to happen.

If you click a second time on any of those icons, an error isdisplay that the calendar is not avaialble.  The only way I have been able to clear the error is to restart IIS.

I've tried this with every bowser I have: IE8, IE9, Chrome, Safari, and Opera.  All fail the same way.

Please can you provide a copy of the error from the event log.

Thanks
Roger

I don't really want to crash multiple sites to get the error. For the most part the problem is that the postback is not causing a refresh. On the monthly view, if you click weekly or list view and then use the browser refresh, the view will be correct. If the error occurs again by usage, I'll grab it.

HI Mark,

OK, thanks. I'm pretty sure that I've seen this problem a few years ago, and think it is a site config error rather than an Events module problem, but I don't remember what the resolution was. I use this version of the module on DNN 5.6.2 which is pretty close to 5.6.5 so I wouldn't tend to believe that it is a DNN 5.6.5 issue.

Has the module been working fine before? Is this a new install? Can you provide any more context?

Thanks
Roger

I think it is a combination of the web.config and the module. I have been trying to catch up and get everything up to date. I have found that with many of the current releases of modules, you can't skip a revision or the module installation fails. Forum and Events both failed so I went back to a backup (luckily I make a backup before every tiny install), and slowly worked my way forward. I was at core 5.6.3 and Events 5.1.x (something prior to 5.1.4). My first step was to get the core to 5.6.5 and the Event module continued to work. I then worked my way forward to Events 5.2.0. It is my mistake but I didn't fully go through every button and icon. I verified that the installs completed without any errors and that basic display functionality continued. I could see the monthly view and see details of the events. It was the Events administrator that started pointing out the other issues.
