OK I am using the starter pack to create a dynamic module in VS2008.  I go through all the steps I have done before creating modules ie:

1. Rename the folders under the app_coode adn destopmodules to "MyCompany.MyModuleName" (these arent literal names of course)

2. Go through everything and Change YourCompany to my company name.

3. Run the SQL install script as instructed.  It installs successfully.

4. bring up the website, log in go to modules definition, create new module select from manifest.

5. the page refresshes like it it is doing something, but nothing really happens.  Get no failure messages or success messages at all.

I check the Modules table in the db and it does not show anything either.  it is not available to put on my pages, nothing.  All the SQL support for the module looks like it is there but no module.

 Hello,

I have the same problem... The page is reloaded without any error message and the module does not appear in the modules list.

Does someone find any workaround for this problem ?

I know that this functionnality (module creation) has been modified recently, may be it is a bug ?

Thanks in advance.

Pierrick

my apologies, this was a bug introduced in 5.2.3. I've resolved it for 5.3.0. Pierrick identified the issue and fix @ http://www.dotnetnuke.com/Community/F...

I've tried the above fix and it doesn't seem to work for me as I was experiencing the same error. When I click on the create new module link from the module definitions page I just get presented with a blank page.

Thanks.  I haven't tried it yet myself.  I will just wait for 5.3 as I can work on different parts of my project.  Glad to see I wasn't going crazy though.
