Hello,

I was wondering if anyone knew how to replace an install module with the source files?  The reason I'm asking is because I want to modify the vendors module, but I used the "Install" version of DNN and I can't go in and start changing code unless I have the source files.  Is it possible to just replace the files, or is there a different process for that?

Thanks

KK

Vendor is part of the core framework, if you want to modify it, please make sure to turn it into a custom module within your own namespace to avoid upgrade issues.

First thing.  All the source for the Vendors module is included with the site so you COULD just change those.  However that will stop you from being able to easily upgrade later because the upgrade process will over write any cahnges you made.  So the thing to do is create a new module project with Visual Studio and change the name space to one of your own so that your new code doesnt clash with the core code.  Once you have all the source files in the new project and renamed the DotNetNuke namepsace to your own you can then develop a new module and isntall as per usual.
