Does the latest DNN use Asp.Net Core anywhere?  Previous Microsoft MVC?  I looked at questions, GitHub, and requirements.  I saw references to MVC and WebForms.  I also saw a blog post about moving to Core.  I am confused as to what DNN is actually using for architecture and where things are going.  The documentation shows WebForms and MVC Modules, but I could not tell where this was Microsoft's MVC or DNN's version of MVC.

I did search before posting.

DNN is still a webforms applications that allows you to build MVC based modules, though a majority of the extensions for DNN are all webforms based.

Are the MVC based modules Microsoft's MVC or is it an MVC framework made by DNN? Do you happen to know if DNN will move to Core in 2018?

Utilizing MS MVC, currently targeting 5.1 libraries I believe, you can download my VS Templates, there's a sample MVC project template in there.

As for .NET Core, I don't have any idea what the plan there is

There is a huge push to figure out the best strategy to incorporate or move to .NET Core. With a new investor, this is likely to be worked on in 2018 fairly seriously. (The product manager listed it as the top of three priorities in the recent December 15th MVP webinar) Also there are others with great ideas, such as https://2sxc.org/en/blog/post/what-ne...

This is the main focus of the new "Technology" group being headed by the DNN founder.

Also other developers are doing innovative work to use MVC (above), Angular and React (see https://2sxc.org/en/blog/post/how-to-...) and much more for their modules.
