Greetings ~

This forum is being provided as a means to facilitate discussion around Community Edition Alpha & Beta testing. That means it's a perfect place to ask questions, check results with others, and generally talk about what you're doing, what is and isn't working, etc. We appreciate everyone's efforts and want to make it as simple as possible for you to provide feedback on alpha and beta releases. But we also want to make sure that we don't wind up treating the forum as a replacement for our issue tracking log. So if you're posting about things that are already logged, it's likely somebody will let you know... *grin*. So here's a few helpful thoughts as you embark on your testing:

  • Always backup existing data and files! Can't say it enough... beta software is beta software. We won't provide upgrades from one beta build to another and that includes from beta to the final release. We really want you to test and we've provided some helpful testbeds for that purpose, but be careful with your real data and sites.
  • Log Issues if You Can! If you are able, please take advantage of our actual issue log. We realize that not everyone is going to go to that effort, and we'd much rather have you post than lose the value of your observations... but if you can spare the few minutes to actually log an issue, provide an explanation or perhaps a screen shot... it will help us all the more.
  • Please Include The Build Number! Since we're going to be releasing often, everyone will need to know exactly which build you are talking about. So please include the build number (if relevant) in your post "Subject".
  • Watch For New Build Releases! We'll be posting new builds fairly frequently over the next couple of weeks, so be on the lookout for new versions. We'll let you know here, in the blog, etc...
  • Be Kind! Remember that there are a lot of people doing a lot of work during a lot of hours... *grin*. Don't be upset about bugs... finding them is kind of the point! And don't be short with anyone, even if you think something "should have been fixed already", or they should RTFM, or they're in the wrong thread, or it should have been done differently, etc... each issue report will be reviewed and considered.

So with all that said... THANK YOU! We hope this turns out to be a bit of fun as well as helpful to many, many people.

Cheers

This forum will be cleared before each new major release cycle (eg. 5.2 --> 5.3) in order to make sure all the information is relevant.  The old posts are moved to an archive which is retained to keep your post counts accurate.
