Your question is perhaps the most important question for any user group member or leader to ask.

As with anything else, you will get out of it what you put into it.  For example, if you go to the meeting and just sit there until it ends, you will go home with very little more than what you walked in there with.  However, if you speak to other people and include them into your conversations, introduce them to people, that user group will become so powerful to each member.  The more effort you put into learning about and meeting your fellow UG members, the more that you will get back in return.

This is why user groups were created in the first place.  Technology has encouraged us to not speak to each other, even when face-to-face.  :)

Hi Kadake,

You mean, like having a beer or two with members after the meeting?   or are you just talking about the communcation in general in or out of the meeting?

I just had a first user group meeting in Boston. I never met anybody in the group before so I was a bit anxcious. We discussed about the DNN for 2 hours straight and everybody was in the conversation. It was a great.  We just had 4 members so it might be different story if you have 15 members or more in the same room. I think the key is just to speak out what you are thinking - even you think it's stupid question or out-of-focus question.

OK, so I joined a user group and can see the list of users in my area. So how do I get in touch with these people if no meetings are scheduled? Can I email or otherwise contact the people in my group?

Hi Rob,
Seems like a reasonable thing to do.  I will look at modifying the module to allow this.
